Repertoire

Our repertoire stretches back to the earliest Gospel Songs, recorded at the beginning of the 20th Century and explores the influence this had on popular music. We're inspired by legendary artists such as Mahalia Jackson and The Staple Singers; as well as less well known figures such as Blind Willie Johnson and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. These artists performed songs that can trace their origins to the 19th Century and possibly earlier. They've been adapted many times to suit different performers and we continue that tradition with our own arrangements of these classic songs.

About half of our repertoire is secular popular music that draws on the Gospel tradition. We also do a fantastic Christmas programme; including lots of Carols. All of our music is chosen carefully to raise your spirits with a positive message. The lyrics, whether secular or sacred, will uplift and inspire you. Our repertoire is constantly changing and evolving to suit the performers we have. The lists below will give you a good idea of the kind of music we perofrm.
